Hi everyone im new to DR and thought HD doctor and data compass looked like the right tools to start with, so in my wisdom found someone selling a second hand seagate HD Doctor which i thought would give me a good idea about the products first hand before i splashed out, trouble is after installing the software/driver and trying to open it i get "soft ver error" message come up, after clicking ok i then get another saying "this program can only run the operating system in chinese WINDOWS" ????????? :-( whats that all about :-). i have emailed SD but am not holding out for my help because i didnt buy it new from them, any help or surgestions would really be good, maybe im doing somthing a bit stupid :-)

The program will produce this error if the SD box is not seen or the driver has a problem. Post a picture of the SD box. Have you tried it on another computer?

I believe the Chinese versions have Chinese writing on the outside. Yours looks exactly like mine. Have you asked the seller what language it was for? Try using some of the earlier versions to see if it works.

Hi yes ive emailed the seller but had no reply as yet, i did think it was maybe just a software version compatability issue but i cant even get any different software for it, i had a look round SD website and it looks like you have to buy it direct from them or you cant download anything, searched the net too with no luck :-(

Sorry, but some more info would be helpful - if you want assistance:

i.e.
Which operating system ? (XP, Vista, Win7 32 or 64 bit)
Which Version of SD software

Did you get it with original SalvationData CD od did you download it from SD ?
