Hi

Can anyone share with me the installation software for HD Doctor:
- WD
- Seagate
- Maxtor
- IBM/Hitachi

I need as many versions as possible, and let me explain why.
I have recently purchased HD Doctor set for the above manufacturers form a closed data recovery business. Unfortunately I do not have access to the SD forum and the software I have on DVD's (the ones which I have from the original owner) is outdated. I have downloaded the software for WD v8.0.5 and v5.0 but none of these works as it is giving me the error "Update Failed, Please contact us" which I have been told that it is down to an update which must be done with some older versions of the software. The same is for Seagate v7.0
I do not have any latest software for Maxtor or IBM/Hitachi so cannot tell if it will work or not, but it is working with the old versions (very old versions).

So if anyone have these installation software or have any information how to use latest versions then can you please contact with me. my email is: motyr@wp.pl

I have paid some silly money for this HD Doctor so it is not a big loose if I will not find the way to use it however I will preffer to have it sorted.

Thanks

The forum has been offline for a few days now. Is SalvationData going out of business?

Which versions of the software do you have?

Hi

I don't think they are going out of business but have problem with hosting company or somebody has hacked their website and hosting company has suspended it (it happened to me in the past with my website).

So far I have collected:
IBM/Hitachi:
- v3.0
- v4.0
- v4.2
but only v3.0 is working for me as other are giving me "upgrade failed, please contact us" error.

Maxtor:
- v1.45
and this version is working fine for me (but as far as I know it is quite old version)

Seagate:
- v3.0
- v4.7
- v6.0
- v7.0
only v3.0 and v4.7 are working, other give me "upgrqade failed ... " error.

WD:
- v3.2
- v3.5b
- v5.0
- v8.0.5
- v8.1.0
when I have installed v3.2 first time (as this version was included on the DVD with HD Doctor) it was working fine, then I have found newer version v5.0 but after installation it gave me "update failed ..." error, so I have reverted to v3.2 and it was working fine. I have then found v8.0.5 which was not working, and then v8.1.0 which is working in terms of starting up and detecting WD box however it is not communicating with HDD's. The LED's on the box are blinking when I try to detect the HDD but nothing is detected and it shows "busy" or "Error" status even for the HDD's which were working with v3.2 and are 100% in working order. But now when I have reverted to v3.2 it is not working ... "update failed ..." error.

I know that Salvation Data HD Doctor products are not as good as PC3000 or maybe other products as well, but for the price I have paid for it and to start with HDD repairs (I'm currently not interested in Data Recovery, just HDD's repairs) it was worthy. Unfortunately these boxes were not used for quite long time (not really sure for how long, couple of years) so these were not updated etc.

I have also found
Samsung
- v2.1
- v2.5
but I do not have box for it.

I have not found anything for Toshiba/Fujitsu.

If you have any other versions of software or want me to send you what I have collected contact with me.

I think it will be good idea to make some kind of backup of installation software for SD products as who knows what gonna happen to their website/forum.

Bad news the site is not getting me to the right location, instead its trying to sell me the product, if you can send the full drivers and software via Email that will be very best, and we can finally get our customers hard drives recovered and back in there hands.

email is drakeo1@live.com , yes is s silly name from my gamer tag way back then.

Hi guys,

Can anyone send me the newest version of software for "HD Doctor for WD"?
I have bought this product couple of years ago (looks like it was 9 years ago! :)).
Have been using it for some time, and then stopped using it for few years (child birth, other activities, etc.).
Now I wanted to start using it again, but it looks like my software version is too old :-(.
It does not recognize all the new HDDs.
I tried to visit the Salvation Data webpage to download the newer version ... but it looks like the forum is down and there is no possibility to download anything :-(. What happened? Have they bancrupted or what?
I would appreciate if anyone sent me this software.
My email is: naturalarti(at)gmail.com

Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Artur

Thanks for the link!

In the meantime I contacted SalvationData support and they sent me link for the newest version of the program.
It is almost fine now.
"Almost" - because now I am facing the problem with ""Update Failed, Please contact us" message :/
So I need to contact them again to sort this out. :(

Or maybe any of you knows how to deal with this message? From what I can see - I am not the only one having this kind of problem.

Regards,
Artur

I think that some of the tools needed a FW upgrade....
Don't remember well...
But on their forum it should be that kind of info.
