Identification problem coused by ROM contents

June 2nd, 2016, 3:09

Hi folks,,

I have cleint HDD WD3200BEVT-00ZCT0, it has a problem with orginal ROM, and ROM is embeded with MCU
So, I used another similar PCB, it's give me Identification problem coused by ROM contents
I can reach to SA, I make a backup for 102,103,105,107,109 by HDD doctor for WD, But Module 103 give me error, not because SA error but it's common failur to load module 103 in this family
I converte the name of module 103 from "ERR-0103" to "0103", and I tried to regenerate ROM using this ROM overlays,
it's give me complete regeneration ROM, but after that it's didn't configure correctlly
I apply that as I read it in one artical as below
"Mod 0103 is not a critical module for drive to work fine. It is used to recover lost ROM together with other modules 01xx.
You don't have to worry about this module.
In a map module in some brand new ROYL drives it stays as module should have length of 2 sectors - 1024 bytes, but inside 0103 mod it is signed as 1 sector -512 bytes that is why LENGTH ERROR occurres.
If You want to use 0103 module for example to regenerate ROM, all You need to do is just take err_0103.mod saved by HD Doctor and use any of hex editors to cut 512 bytes starting from offset 0200 (there should be only 00h or FFh bytes). After this You can save it as 0103.mod and You will have valid 0103 module .
But probably this module is NOT_INIT so it is worth and used for nothing. "

But without success, So How I can rebuild the correct rom by this ROM overlays??

if you can't rebuild the ROM, try to identify ROM version from SA modules and get a copy from hddguru files or ask forum for the same version.

I try this ROM, But without success, it's give me the same symptoms "HDD stay Bussy and I can't reach to SA"
But, when I write foreign ROM it's give me Ready with Identification problem and I can reach to SA and make backup for All Module smoothly!

Are any member solve such that problme? it's strange case>>>

problem is with SA as well in my opinion.
you should try smart-hot-swap before swapping heads.
