Given that it's a SAN, you can expect a quote into the $10,000 plus range. If you can tell us more about the setup perhaps I can get you a better idea. For example was it a iSCSI LUN that was being used, and if so what was the format of the volume. Or was it a network share. Did the RAID experience a hardware failure, or just logical? How many LUNs do you need recovered from it. The more information you can provide the better.

Generally SANs require custom software to be written as they tend to fragment the LUNs and often don't use standard file systems.

I've been working with couple IBM StorWize SAN, and can say that reconstruct raid isn't tricky process for them. Most complicated part is decoding Node mapping, which stored in flash memory.
BTW there is no iSCSI Luns, everything is different.
Do you have whole server with you?
Price wont be friendly, come to PM

You're right, should have said "iSCSI target" not LUN. Appreciate the needless attention to detail  .

I would like to say it is close to "software" RAID. Not for first time, different manufacturers try to build an optimized hardware-independent systems. And IBM, of course, is the leader in modern technologies. So, meet virtualization-based systems, FlashCore, Variable Stripe Raid and many others.
