Do not use ROM regeneration. Just place a compatible PCB without correct adaptives on it, so that SA access is possible and the unlock function can read the modules and edit them in a way to get rid of the password.
I guess that on your drive when ATA password is present access to SA is denied.

i got two donor roms for the drive .. but seems the flash is corrupted some how ..
tried to flash it with the original rom that was taken from the very same drive , and failed !!!
now i will look for external programmer , and program some other flash ..
will kepp u updated for sure .
