That's like asking if there's a step by step guide to fixing cars. Without knowing what the problem is first, there can be no "step by step" instructions. I hope you weren't thinking that this tool will be a "push button - extract data" type of solution, because no such solution exists. It's a lot of trouble shooting, repairing, and finally (if successful) extracting data.

DFL's forum (and YouTube) are replete with videos (and PDFs, in DFL's forum) explaining how to use their equipment. Have you read the User Guide? Browsed their forum? The manual by Stanley Morgan is excellent for beginners (like you and I).

As PCLab explained in the DFL forum
I usually go to Terminal (on Null Family) and press CTRL-L.
It will give you the family.

Why don't you get them from DFL? If you don't have rights to updates (i.e., are past the 3-year free updates period, or are not the registered owner of the equipment), you need to straighten that out with whoever sold you the equipment and DFL. DFL are usually very accommodating and helpful.

I've tried many time but it's not showing family info when select Null and CTRL+L
