thxs all,

the sample pdf file is enclosed.

- What was the initial problem of the drive ? bad sectors, ddrescue found over few hundred GB of bad sectors.

- How did you recover it / the data ? ddrescue

- Was there any encryption ? no.

- Did you try to open the files with hex-editor to see the content ? no, i did not use hex editor.

- Was the system affected by some sort of Virus/Malware/Ransomware ? no.

- Did you manipulate firmware on the drive with firmware tool like clearing G-List or .... etc etc .... no clearing of g-list.

- Did you use software only sollutions / logic recovery and what software did you use (R-Studio, GetDataBack, etc ...) ? i only tried ddrescue from linux bootable usb.

i supposed the first two bytes generally the header is missing. is there anyway to repair this?
i tried opening the file with cutepdf and adobe, it says the file is corrupted.
any good software tool to repair the file, the data is intact as can be seen from the hexa codes but header byte is missing, i actually think with different pdf apps may help.
besides, the file size is intact too.
may all kind souls please advise. what's your take?
