Drive suddenly is no more accessible, apparently after powering on/off
I tried to access with external usb connector.

It does spin, and no special noise like tic tic is heard.
On windows 10 disk management, when I see the disk (not always), it seems not initialized.
some times (like 1% of times when reconnected) it tries to open the various partitions (about the 5 partitions) openning various explorer windows, but never suceeds.

using seagate tool (i noticed it appears in the tool after being up since some 15 minutes either it is not visible yet), the SMART test does not do anything,
The other tests are successfull including the full test

I got connected via tx/rx on the hard drive, via USB and COM port, using an Arduino (reset shunted to the GND, TX/RX connected but with voltage bridget of 220 Ohm for each connection).
Connection at 38400 bds

It gives me this when I switch on the hard drive :
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Boot 0x40M
Spin Up[0x00026F7C][0x000273E8][0x00027854]

APM disabled by Sport
-----------------------------------------------------

Not that between the IDLE2 and APM disabled by Sport line, I had to wait some 15 minutes.
After ore than 30 minutes, nothing moves anymore

If I switch on/off the HD it does again the same.

I cannot send any command apparently (while the RX light on the arduino seems to work each time I press a key)

Note : I have lots of photos on this hard drive and would not like to loose them. For other stuff, it would be a pitty, but I will assume.

Ctrl+Z?

And what kind of equipment/tools do you have?

I'm sorry I didn't get your question.

Ctrl z has no more effect than any other entry, as said, whatever the terminal tool used.

I do no understand what I can detail more precisly about the equipment : st1000dm003 for thé HD, a pc connected with USB and an arduino, with a connection that works. ...

I was asking is there any response onto Ctrl+Z after last string.
And wanted to know what do you have to work with such cases, I meant any professional tools.
You have, at least, to try restart drive with shorten read channel sending Ctrl+Z to set drive in command mode.
Or, if you are sure that drive is ok physically, no visible damages, no unusual noises etc., just try to leave it for 2-3 hours and try to manage it again.

@pdelap, you can locate the read channel as follows:

Because the drive is too busy to answer on it. You have to do it with shorten channel. Apply shortening immediately after string "(P) SATA Reset"

Yes, this is the last stage.

If you provide a photo I will mark a contacts to shorting.
