Hello,

I have a HDD which for some unknown reason decided to brick, loose all data on it,

when i have plugged it back into my windows pc and opened disk management, it has dramatically lost its capacity from 3TB to 800GB, and their is only one partition, no unused partitions,

is thier a way of fixing this ?

many thanks in advance,

Stuart

1. I believe your drive was INSIDE EXTRNAL CHASIS

Is it?

2. Your drive was plugged in under WinXp.

Your SATA driver has a 32-bit LBA limit. You need to update your driver (eg Intel RST) or select AHCI mode for your SATA controller in BIOS.
