Doesn't work with 1.8V rom chips as for Barracuda 7200.14 PCBs, it will kill them!

I personally would leave the card still and would never use that programmer.
I see it as a patch that with some error could break the SATA card, and that would be a problem. A programmer like EZP2013 with the 1.8v adapter can be obtained for $ 25 and is made for that function.

I don't know if exist a new MRT external programmer that is compatible with 1,8V roms, i still have that old version which i used only once (now is just getting the dust).
When i've to read/write roms outside the board, i use Revelprog that supports very well 1,8V SPI rom chips.

a client of mine killed ROM of a seagate using some MRT adapter with wrong voltage...
Luckily i was able to recover it.
So carefully with those...
