What exact purpose with regard to data recovery do inquire concerning those two tools? If you don't have a solid hardware imager, I recommend focusing on that first, rather than focusing on the advanced repair/refurbish functionality of tools like sediv.

Good to know maybe SeDiv will work there bugs out but if they continuous increase price with out resolving simple issues "Even with updates" i will hold off..Once again thank you Spildit for your wealth of information and motivation and kindness!!

To be honest, you'll make more money with the PC-3000 despite the much higher cost. Although you can limp by with one of those systems, you'll solve a lot more cases with the PC-3000 and ultimately get an even better return on investment.

If you absolutely can't afford to get a PC-3000, then I'd say go for the MRT since it's a bit more rounded out solution than the other budget alternatives.

Thank you for your response Data-medics..There is no doubt at all that pc-3000 is an much more reliable tool but the cost is just to much for the time being..Thought getting by with MRT for the time being then moving to pc-3000 with more time and experience...bad idea?

There are. However, there is a fairly major difference between dealing with firmware for refurbishing vs stabilizing a drive for imaging.

A good DR tech can easily make back what 1 PC3000 unit costs in about 10 to 20 jobs depending on your rate. In my opinion MRT/SEDIV/DFL are much more expensive as they will always be outdated and cost you more money with lost jobs. Your not really considering the lost revenue when the cheaper tool can't handle what the higher priced tool can.

pc3000 is outdated but still the best u can buy on the market...
with all its flaws and voids.

neither tool will make you able to handle ALL the cases, you gotta be smart to do what tools cannot do.
to be honest i do not know what other tools can do, but know that pc3k can do what a dr engineer meets every day.
you can start buying others, but you will end up with a pc3k sooner or later.
And in that moment the other tools will be lost money.
Perhaps not entirely coz u can do some imaging on the mrt, but generally yes.

MRT online is a good option to test the waters with minimal investment. But, PC3000 needs to be in your budget if you choose to be serious about data recovery.
