I am having an issue trying to get the "Seagate shield head" tool to work correctly. I can shield the head and generate the new ROM (Rom-2H-K1.bin) but the problem arises when entering "Boot code mode" and trying to write the ROM by clicking "Write Flash ROM by Boot Code". After writing the ROM the hard drive now longer becomes ready and won't enter terminal mode. So I can’t format and recalculate translator.

I get the following error:
bAD CMD: 0X1A1A

I tried this on a few different hard drives, all 5400.5 and 5400.6, and I get the same response every time. I also tried writing the ROM via the “ROM Tool” instead of the “Boot Mode Tool” but I get the same error.

Does anybody know if there is a bug with MRT or am I doing something wrong?

I followed the video they provided:

Here is a video of what I was doing:

You are in Boot Mode. I think you need to turn the HD off and then on.

When I turn the HDD off and on it gets stuck in busy and doesn't do anything. If I reset the drive after the last step in the video, the HDD is no longer recognised by MRT.

Hello MRT. I emailed service@mrtlab.com twice on Monday but no response. You said you would respond within 24 hours. How do we arrange remote assist?

I also watched your longer Seagate Head Shielding Tutorial ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng1ssJt6Dwk ) and tried formatting SA before writing ROM like you suggested but now I'm having other issues.
