MRT SSD Samsung 840

July 8th, 2018, 9:18

I was wondering what actual happens when you read out the memory chips via the MRT tools and the create loader functions.

840 SSD is being detected in MRT but memory error access, boot loader and short allows for dump chip function and I got 8 x 16GB dumped.

Here are my questions:

Does it read the chips via the controller and applies the xor key and strips of encryption during the read.

Also how am I combine those 8 bin files ( I assume they are raid and paired )

There is nothing in the mrt Manuel and whenever I check the dumped bin files I get only FF data in all dumps via RStudio hex editor. Any input would be great

If the dump files are all 0xFF, then MRT couldn´t read from the chips, even it it said so.

Well chip off I can do via Rusolut but nand chips are encrypted so no joy here. I need to check tomorrow why it only writes FF in the dumps.
