Hello,

I have this hard drive and it gives me the faults that I attach to the image.
It's almost certainly software problem.
But I do not know how to reconstruct the module 0x02.
Thank you.

I have no idea what these modules are for.
I put a copy of them.

Thanks for the reply.

Those modules sometimes contain copies of module 02. However, in your case they are empty. Can you reconstruct your damaged modules from the good sectors of each copy? Otherwise you should be able to use resources from a donor.

Now the disk has been unable to read the modules 0x11 and 0x04.
I think that's why when I sign in for ABA or for TRACK it does not read anything.
It could be that he does not read the module 0x04 due to a failure in reading the module 0x11, now I think I should find a compatible 0x11 module, but I never get it, unless it is read from the same disk.

How can you know the firmware version of the disk?

You can work from ROM version (16.1VG)

thanks pcimage. I have loaded your module to the first one.
The firmware version of the disk is:

ROM Firmware version: .........................: 0016001V

but I see in the firmware file: "01.01A01", and I do not know what that code is.

Can someone explain it to me.

By the way, once the module 0x11 is loaded, I will have access to it by track and by ABA. I have read the module 0x11 per track and I have seen that the entire header is 0x00. I have recorded by track the module that pcimage has given me and the operative disk.

I need to solve the module 0x04 but I have full access to the data and fast.

Thank you very much.

Reading the module 0x04 by ABA reads perfectly. It has the verification of the SA by ID.

In the modules 0x11 and 0x1b in offset 0x10 is the firmware version of these microcode modules. To be successful in reading the LDR, the version of these modules must match the ROM firmware version.

You can also use this to know if the ROM has been changed (otherwise the disk modules, but more rare), if you find that the versions do not match.

If I'm wrong, please correct me. This is more of a question.

What are the CPs ?, I have seen, if I am not mistaken that the TOSHIBA disk is stored in the ROM and I get the impression that a large part of the executable code is stored in the ROM.

As I go forward I am finding a great affinity towards the WD and the TOSHIBA, but personally I see very discolored (under my way of thinking) the SEAGATE discs.

Some conecptos like ZONE TABLE, I have found them by internet I put the link: http://hddscan.com/doc/HDD_Tracks_and_Zones.html

I would like to help, as far as I can, but right now my level is very low.

Greetings.
