Can you upload the resources, including a ROM and track dump?

I suspect that most of the CP errors are bugs in your tool.

I think the problem should be no accessing SA/Data area. Probably bad heads or media damage, since he can only read CP from PCB and nothing from SA...

Track 1 damaged, need to read it first, than write it to repair the logical damage.

There are several "Err" CPs which are ROM resident, eg 33, 92, 95. I believe these "errors" are due to a bug in the tool rather than a damaged ROM. A ROM dump would enable us to confirm this. In any case these false errors are obfuscating the real problem.

MRT does that even on healthy drives, so I don't care it too much.

This confirms that the "bug" is with MRT ... Maybe they have incorrect CP size set on the VSC to retrieve CPs at code level ....

At any rate if you can't read a single CP from platter like DD and if MRT can read DD from good drives i would say that the real problem is damaged head(s).

Ok, i don't have MQ01ABD100M here but i do have MQ01ABF050 and it does look like SeDiv can read ALL CPs without error.

Something must be really wrong with MRT if you do get those errors with reading CPs even on good drives.

I did test with HRT and if i do set wrong size to retrieve CPs on my MQ01ABF050 i can still READ the CP.

Very strange .... I do get exactly the same data as if i use other tools or valid CP size .... So the BUG with MRT is not related to size set on the VSC ....

It's crazy .... I do read CPs on modern SATA Toshiba with a 48 LBA VSC where i do set CP name (like DD) + size and i do retrieve the data to the buffer with another VSC where i do set the size ....

If i do set size wrong i still get CP. I can read but it will NOT WRITE ! This is VERY COOL as if you do get wrong CPs like PC-3000 was doing and we figure out on other threads then the CPs that are invalid will NOT WRITE as the drive itself will check the intergrity of CP and if checksum doesn't match the CP will NOT WRITE.

To sum it up typically by using VSCs and/or HRT with setting changed on .ini file i can READ ANY CP present on Toshiba (even modern drives like MQ) by setting on the VSC the CP "ID" and size. If i do set wrong size i do get a CP from that size and i will not be able to write it back unless i do have correct size as checksum will not be valid and drive will refuse to write if CP is not correct.

I can't see why MRT would not be able to read some CPs on good drives because even if they do get the size wrong they should still be able to get some data and MRT will not know if it's valid or not unless it checks the checksum of the CP ...

Have you given the case closed or do you want to get the data from that disk?
