ST500LT012 TERMINAL FAIL

September 27th, 2018, 12:45

Failed to recognize in bootcode.
It shows wrong characters. In normal f3 normal mode it detects it well.
2 clicks and the mortor stops.

It is a case study, no matter the data.

It is a broken unit.
It does 2 clicks and it stops in 1 second ~.
If I do not connect it to the mrtlab, it does not detect it and the engine stops immediately.
Once I stopped the engine if I detected it with mrtlab I detected it as SEAGATE and then as generic.
I'm going to select it as a thin laptop and it has short-circuited the ROM and if I read it I upload it.

Thank you.

When I get another one like this, I will study it carefully, and I will put the results we find.

Thanks for your interest.

By isolating the PCB and selecting the Yarax family 86 HDD model instead of the one detected by the MRTLAB (Yarrar_5400), the terminal works correctly.
It gives me the wrong head type failure, but it is normal the PCB is isolated.
I assume they are the heads that are wrong. I have visualized CAP, SAP and RAP and they seem to be correct.
