You need to be way more specific about what you want ...

Loader ? Specific CP ? ROM ? Specific module ?

Also what is the firmware version of your drive, etc .... ?

What is the problem of your drive ? Why do you need firmware for it ?

I'm under the impression that MRT isn't your best choice for old Maxtor drives.

At any rate here it is an example, this is a PATA/IDE 80 gb Calypso III that i do have for sale on eBay (entire drive) :

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Maxtor-YAR41BW ... 2744532559

Firmware resources (for HRT) are attached on the listing and posted on the file section of the forum.

This is for :

Firmware - YAR41BW0
N, M, B, A
PCB - 301862101 3.8.04
18104LF JHM ER
M6FYA
MAEAYYFQ

:D

Hello, sir!
I have asked our tech support to help search FW resource.
However, considering that disk is very old ,it is hard to seek one.
Also you can search FW on other forum.
your FW version is 41BW0 and Y3 .
3 is for 3 heads.

Interesting that MRT does know what firmware the OP does need as the OP didn't state that on the post ...

I guess that this post is related to the other post made by the OP :

viewtopic.php?t=37390

At this point one have to ask .... does the OP even have MRT or any other firmware tool to use ?

Most likely the drive is gone by now as it was opened and the head stack was replaced ... assuming we are talking about the same drive of the other post ....

I will reply on the other thread.

The big question now ...

If this post is the same drive as the other post - viewtopic.php?t=37390 it does look like the OP did already swap heads on the drive so ...

WHY THE HELL didn't he backup the firmware of the donnor drive first ?

If the drive is compatible enough for the heads to work on the damaged drive i would say that the first thing to do would be to backup the working drive firmware for later use ?

you're running too much, I have two identical units with two different problems so I did two different posts. It seemed simple to understand :-) However, I thank you for the answer, mrt knows my problem because I had already talked to one of their technicians that's why he gave me that information. As far as backing up the other post you were talking about I have a different problem, of course I opened the unit safely and replaced the heads but the problem remains the same, irregular clicks. Unfortunately, this unit was subjected to a severe electric shock and some components exploded, I replaced the pcb and I recovered the ardent chip replacing it on the new pcb I had but the problem remains, so I thought it was a head problem and I proceeded to replace it, but nothing. The unit was identical to the one in question but was slightly more recent. Thanks again for your precious directions

Ok .... Did you try the PCB first without replacing the ardent chip ?

Also why do you need this firmware ? Is the drive displaying something like factory aliase instead of full model ? Do you intend to start it from safe mode ? Can you provide a picture of the drive label ?
Thanks.
