Post subject:  HD seagate model: ST2000LM007-1R8174 unmatched capacity

Hi everyone, I have problem for this disk and I do not find topic for solution, can anyone help?
Disk slows down for a long time to identify and does not go into terminal mode.

The hd rotates normally, but beeps twice as soon as it is turned on, it takes time to exit BSY mode and clicking Auto-identification goes to the wrong family with errors.
Thanks for the information, I'll be checking another hd from the same family about the behavior that will present.

First You need to check Terminal log ..

“Beeps twice” is almost certainly physical issues, don’t mess with it any further!

Absolutely, no doubt it will show servo errors.

Disk is Port Locked.

You need to "firmware unlock" and "exchange commands".

Try to identify HDD again. Capacity should be detected normally.
