Post subject:  Using the COM Port UART Adapter

I know this should be straightforward but I can seem to connect to the COM port on any of the hard drives I've got using the UART USB card. Is there a vido anywhere that shows not only how to connect it but what lights should be on the card and how it looks in program itself?

Seems like it only happens with WD drives. I'll have to try a different connector.

@alfarom, when you say "the UART USB card", what do you mean by "the"? The early card was limited to 3.3V I/O whereas the latest card can handle 2.5V and 1.8V.

The later card. Doesn't matter now it seems that I was only getting a problem with a couple of WD drives.
