 Post subject: ST3000DM001

Anything to do here? It spins up, click twice and spins down It gets ID, firmware etc, but says the size is 3,86gb. Is this dead or is there something i can do?

Hi.
I think it is a lost case.
Every time the needles pass through that area I think they will break.
Also if I'm not mistaken, the other surfaces of the HDD have the same scratch.

Yes, maybe possible for partial but requires thorough investigation...

Ok, do you know how to partially recover? I have both mrt and pc3k available.

In your case I would remove top head, do the necessary ROM modifications to get the drive to start without h5
