WD Mybook without bridge pcb, corrupt file content

June 15th, 2022, 4:38

WD40EZRX-00SPEB0 source drive came for data recovery without the bridge pcb. We can see all sectors, MFT with full folder and file structure. We can also see file signatures, but all content in all files seem to be corrupt.
It does not look like the drive was encrypted 100% or there is a block size issue? Not sure how to get around this one. Anyone who had a similar experience?

This is very little to go on. You need try combine info you have.
Open for example a JPEG (a few actually) and do headers OK? If no, then yes you could have block size OR offset issue. To get from cluster (from MFT runlist) to LBA we need block (cluster) size but also correct offset. What software are you using? Or do you mean sector size (0.5KB <> 4KB)?

In DMDE, select PH drive then select volume, toggle 'advanced' checkbox so you see bootsector > post screenshot

Example:
