Hey hope yous don't mind a post like this (and that I'm in the right part of the forum!) but I was curious what would people here recommend for someone that wants to learn more about how conventional magnetic storage works? More out of curiosity than anything else. I obviously know like the bare minimum that you will find on Wikipedia or the like but I was curious if someone has recommendations for how learn the basics of how drives actually function (bad sector remapping, how does it bootstrap itself, etc). Most information out there seems to be written with the assumption that the reader either already knows all the basics or is hopelessly outdated.
