Okay, it not like I will take one into Outer Space or whatever, but what would happen to a hard drive if it was working in a space craft with no gravity. I guess it will work normally, what do you think?

My next question is, what would happen if the hard drive was working with the cover off and in outer space itself. Would it work. I guess it will spin and do the normal things, but without air, the heads can't float on the disk surface. Am I wrong? Let me know

So long as it has air with an equivilant pressure pressure below 20,000' ( I think ), it should be fine with current designs. The effects of gravity are likely negated by the various tweaks that the heads can have applied on the fly ( point in fact, you can operate the drive in any orienatation these days without issues ).
