I've been doing data recovery using software and DeepSpar Imaging for several years and still learning. I've save some $$$ and ready for the next step.

I wish I have more money but I have to make a decision either attend Scott Moulton training or invest on PC3K or Atolla Insight. PC3k / Atolla cost twice as much compare to the training.

I have a work around for firmware issue. I have been using the Vendor firmware update and if that doesn't work, I outsource it to have the PCB swap / Firmware fix. I have enough $$$ for the training which I can start ASAP but I have to save more if I decided with PC3K / Atolla

But I'm not really sure how much the training will be able to help me complete a job. I'll learn how to fix the internal issue but there is still a gap between fixing the internal issue and imaging. If I have a PC3K, then I can at least fix the firmware, do a better diagnostic and might be able to increase my data recovery ratio. I still have to outsource internal issue.

I guess in my mind the best way is to invest on PC3K. I'm trying to justified the training because it's something I can do right now and less waiting. Looking for direction which way to go.

I think you have convinced yourself already that PC3K is the way to go. Training isn't much use without having the tools to hand for when you return home.

Learning to accurately troubleshoot and fix problems on test drives is the way forward. It's been said here so many times before but it's worth saying again......whatever you do, do NOT experiment on customers' live drives.
