Hi all,
please don't bash us :)

I am seeking an advice for a start up company.
Me and 2 other partners have 10 years experience in IT and computer forensics. We are thinking about starting a new division in data recovery in San Marino.

I am pretty sure on this board there are hundreds of experienced person that would give us some tips. What to start looking at, equipment, software, training, what to do and what not, etc.
I'd like to listen to "users and technician" instead of companies trying to sell their products (good or not).

Merry xmas!!!

Hi
About equipment, there are few choices : PC3000, Atola and Deepspar ( Imager ).
The most sophisticated is PC300 and most expensive. You can repair Firmware issues with it.

About training, the manufacturers of these products provide training session (expensive fees )

For physical recovery, you need to master some manual process, have donors and also clean room.

So your suggestion is to stick with one of these products and follow training?

PC3000 would be your best starting point, give it a good while before you know what's going. There are cheaper options like DDI, but that's just an imager. PC3000 + DE allows you to image and a LOT more.

pc3000 udma = best for data recovery use
sediv wd = best for wd firmware level diagnose
salvation hitachi doctor = best for hitachi firmware level diagnose

and some normal data recovery software like r-studio and file scavenger is best.

by the help of these software you can start data recovery bussiness.
