3D-VNAND

looks like Samsung is serious about V-NAND.

This article give an insight into the scale of Flash based tech in future years.

I didn't really notice, but the article list shows a new facility was opened this year in Xi'an with VNAND as focus product.
From what I have seen they are approx. 1 - 2 years ahead of others like Toshiba, Sandisk, Micron.

I have yet to see a datasheet for a chip, or even real specs, so it would be interesting for the first DR shop to get one of these through the door :)

In 2017 we'll see the mechanical HDD be used for offline storage only. With today's os'es becoming more and more complex, mechanical disks have no place when pitted against the SSD.
