Website Ripoffs

April 14th, 2015, 11:30

Hi All,

Every week, a new data recovery company decides to rip off our website. I'm sure many of you guys have the exact same issue.

I usually sent a polite email asking them to remove the image but many are extremely rude and unapologetic.

It is now time to shame the not-so-nice people at Datasure.hk - Mr Burnie Woo in particular. I have spent months trying to be polite and I know from DMCA filings that we are not the only company who are being infringed here.

I won't lose any sleep over these minor issues but I genuinely feel sorry for the customers who end up doing business with these gangsters.

Now to find the next 5 offenders this week...

The perils of having a good site! Take it as a compliment, but still follow through with action.

I found a site that clearly edited my price list that they copy and pasted. They copied other stuff from my site, too. I'd rather be the lab that others want to be imitate than the one who lacks creativity.

@labtech: yeah, that photo plus many more.

Maybe you're right guys, its just frustrating when you can see your own face on other websites!

Wow, no shame. Or self-respect rather.

Here is a case where someone purporting to be a WD engineer ripped off an article that I had written, but was too stupid to realise that the article was about Seagate's drives and did not apply to WD's products:
