I am using both intel and Samsung, I would estimate 40 or so systems using Samsung and 25 using Intel. So far, and only 3 or so months, I have had 0 issues. I am using only 128Gb though as these are just workstations, but they do get a good workout. for some reason I personally feel good about the samsungs but I guess I have nothing to back that up! ;-)

Here is my thought, based on projects I get:

Samsung SSD - Recoverable @ $350 most of the time
Intel SSD - Recoverable @ $350 most of the time
SSD with Sandforce - Almost never recoverable, except for logical cases or those with bad sectors

Of course, none of this matters if one backs up their data. Hard disk drives and solid state drives both fail, no matter the brand or price you pay.

Received the following SSD

Intel 520 Series SSD - 180GB
MCU: SandForge

Symptom: No detection, after connecting I feel the MCU gets hot.
Discussed with someone, he said, this one can't be recovered, because after reading chip, data is found encrypted.

What's is your experience with this one? Any chance of recovery?
