Hello Dear Forum Users
There are very few books on the market about hard disks and other storage devices. I can't find any. The only one I can find is
Computer Forensics, investigating hard disks. I don't know why I can't find any more. Do you know some decent books on hard disks (sectors, bad sectors, hpa areas, MBR, the way data is stored, and so on...) ?
Do you recommend any?
Thx

There's
ReclaiMe's Logical Data Recovery book and their free online videos. There are also Ann
LeFlore's books but they are rather dated and focus on SalvationData tools.

Yeah, I think the problem with books is that by the time one would be published much of the info would already be out of date. Data recovery is a field of constant research and study. I'd conservatively say I spend half my time working just doing research and trying to understand specific issues that arise. It's why forums about data recovery are so essential to being successful.
