Hello friends.

Today I am very excited and want to share a good news with you. I have received a hard disk rejected by India's leading data recovery company saying data recovery is not possible from the hard disk as it has got some scratches on the Media due to head crash.

Customer want the data anyhow. I tried and I was succeeded in recovering 100% data what client wants.

Attached are the pics. Its not necessary to always have Class 100 room or Lab all u have to have is trust and self confidence on your self and on the top Luck :smoker:

DF :)

I've always wondered... Why do people say that if there's a scratch on the platter(s), there is zero chance of recovery? Obviously if the entire surface is scratched, it's not going to work.

because people know what they are saying
darkforce1 is lucky guy because he got a Samsung drive
Maxtor with same problem might be unrecoverable

So what would happen if someone tried to recover such a drive? Would the scratch make the heads crash? Or is there something else that would prevent reading of the rest of the surface?

Surely head damage. I am really lucky. But one thing is there as the damage was there but not that much. At least big company should try it if they are charging like a hell.

They just opened the disk and said not possible. you can see N/P mark on the top cover of the picture.

Without try you can not be sure, and in hard disk experience do change from hard disk to hard disk. You can be sure or perfect but not every time.

Correct me if I am wrong

The drive would have been unrecoverable if the scratch damage the SA contents .
But there is no way to find out if the scratch is on the service area or not only way to find out is try it like DF did .

I recovered a Toshiba 2 1/2 inch drive a few years ago with a ring scratch in the middle and I recovered the needed (not 100%)data.

I think if (in your case) the landing zone is only scrached you will have a good chance. I would also set the endstop so that the good heads will not make contact with that scrached area. Other than that it is possible....the question is "Do you want to risk your good heads" on it?

I know that there are scratches in Landing zone and some on the platters. And of course I have taken a risk of replacing a good head. I know there is no another alternate to it.

Results could be Negative. But at least I have tried.

nice Friend..

If you Found the scatched area is not Data and SA Area. of course there is still Hope to recover Data. So the most important is you must to KNOW WHERE IS SA ZONE AND DATA ZONE. where is the Beginning and the last position of DATA ZONE. with this Knowledge you will know the recovery possibility from a sratched media.
