Hi, first time poster right here, i cant believe it took me this long to find a site with such good info and software.... hello!

still, i have a question...

i need to format/wipe this disc and i havent found a way to do it, i have tried with different wipers and nothing, they dont even start, i always get some type of error,

WipeDisk says it is in Use
Shredder just says its impossible
boot and nuke -trial- acts like if it did it (but just for a split second) and they it says done and whatever but, yeah theres nothing wiped off...
i have used some others and (all those that come in UBCD) the result is pretty much the same............ nothing!

i have tried so many times, and had such a shitty fails that i decided to post this.

i have failed so bad that the disk is still bootable as it was first handed to me.

if it matters the disc is a WD Caviar SE 160GB

I tried wiping having it as a secondary disk and also from bootable images, none seem to work.. so my assumption is that the disc is somehow protected for this type of actions, and i wanted to ask here (finally) if someone could help me out on this....

thanks.

peace.

Your drive have "some" problems with SA, password, both or something else.

You can contact "beto" in this forum. He is from Mexico too and he can handle this.

The forum rules state that "never using punctuation and capital letters" is frowned upon.

Perhaps someone will respond if your style is less kewl. ;-)

I think it is more that there is minimal point in trying to repair a single drive if you don't care about the data... toss it and get a new one
