Some BIOS allow you to disable SMART, Ive not tested it to see if this could possibly be your issue? but as you say its happening to multiple drives in windows but works ok in MHDD it would be at least worth a look at.

32 or 64 bit windows ?
I guess 64 bit windows 7, right ?
To get S.M.A.R.T. data the majority of the programs load a driver on windows to access the drive diretcly and enquire the S.M.A.R.T. status.
Problem might be loading that driver under windows (even worse if it's 64 bits and drivers have to be signed)....

thank you both ;)

i've tried the bios settings with no luck , i don't even think it's related to the bios , as no changes to the bios were made
i am on win7 32 bit - fully updated "might be some kind bug of micro$oft buggy updated driver ?"

the smart was showing fine until 10-15 days , no new software was installed , and i just hate to reinstall the os on this PC as it may take several days to reconfigure and resetup things .
