hi, I have a WD SSHD Blue 1tb. it was attached to my dell laptop and i put the password for hdd in bios. now my laptop stopped working and I took my hdd out and tried to use with new laptop to get my data. i remember my password but unfortunately it is not accepting the password. i have tried with toshiba and ibm laptops.

now is there any way to unlock my hdd? i have quite alot data on it.

is it possible to use hdd if i buy a new hdd with same model and swap the motherboard?

Password is not stored on the PCB, so don't waste your time or money going down that route.

Your Dell laptop probably ciphered the password so it can only be entered on that laptop.

Your best bet would be to try and get the original laptop repaired I'd say.
