 Post subject: Are there any means to make proprietary SAS HDD operable?

Dear Sirs,

Are there any means to make EMC some how changed SAS HDD usable in other solutions? Ar far as I know they use 520 byte sectors instead of 512 and most likely changed firmware. A healthy EMC HDD is being detected as failed by any other RAID controller.

Don't want to destroy expensive drives (security regulations) just because EMC is so greedy.
