File recovery software started from usb drive

Hi All,

There is a lot of File Recovery Software we can download. But all of them are designed to be installed on your windows OS. But if the files you want to receover is on C: drive installing anything on C: drive isn't good idea - because we don't want to overwrite our file...

Since I don't want to write anything on C: drive I want to boot from external pendrive.

I wonder if there is some data recovery software I can have on a pendrive and boot from it and restore the deleted file from C: drive?

You can use HDDSuperClone live, it includes DMDE. Or image the drive and recover files from the image file.

If you accept minimal risk, download DMDE to different PC > extract DMDE ZIP to USB flash drive then on 'patient PC' start DMDE from the flash drive.

If c: happens to be on an SSD drive you're probably too late anyway, see for example https://youtu.be/NyLQbxnPurc for demonstration of TRIM & deleted file recovery.

R-Studio Technician/T80+ can be installed on a external USB drive.
For simpler task, R-Undelete will do.
