Hello

I used a SSD Samsung EVO 840 in my laptop windows 10 for the OS. was working with it and suddently the laptop stop responding. A restart bring me to the BIOS only, and BIOS don't see it anymore.
When I put the SSD via an external USB-SATA socket to another laptop, the laptop don't discover it. some disk partition tools like easeus or paragon don't see it either.
No issue for data I restore them from a backup on a new SSD

Is it dead or is there a way to resurrect it ? Any idea why it happens ? I used almost 2 years without issue.

Thanks for help

Great that you have all your data backed up.
It seems like you have the same or a very similar issue I have:

Thinking a bit more about your case:
Since you do not need your data back, you could send it in to Samsung (their European RMA service is in the Netherlands btw.) if it is still in warranty, and they will either fix it or send you a new or refurbished one, I guess. (I never tried that since I want my data back)
On the other hand, I would be interested whether your SSD has the same problem as mine.

I developed a tool to quickly automatically diagnose a Samsung MEX / EVO 840:
https://github.com/thesourcerer8/SSDdiag/
It should be also helpful in your case. If you post or pm the results, I can with a deeper diagnosis.
