Hi Spildit,
I saw that you are posting alot of things.

My question is why you are using all things only on one pc.

Sediv Pc is a complete hardware Box. it will not allow you any any any thing.

So please, if you want to use software other then Sediv. then use a different machine.

Sediv Machine is related for Sediv Section only.

If Sediv have a card, then you can open many software as you want. but your full pc is Sediv Hardware. cannot start other things.

Waqas Ali

OK !!!

:D :D :D

No problem.

SeDiv was made in a way that it can be used with PC-3000, for example, so it's even better if you have one hardware card as PC-3000 !!! Don't see any problem with that !!!

At any rate i will try not to use other software at the same time as SeDiv with exception of the power/register status window of HRT (to power off/on the drives connected to the card/SeDiv).

Many thanks for your reply and do continue to improve SeDiv !!!

Don't get me wrong, SeDiv is a GREATTTTTT TOOLLLLL with a GERATTT PRICE !!!

It was really very cheap for all the utilities it have. It was like paying $60 USD for each utility. One HD Doctor from SD would be 10x more ($600 USD) and would be way more buggy and outdated.

SeDiv just works and for it's price it might be one of the best choices on the market as for a powerfull firmware tool that supports the majority of modern drives !!!

I'M VERY HAPPY WITH IT !!!!! Even with bugs/problems it's still VERY GOOD and POWERFULL.

:D :D :D

Hi
Spildit,
this happened to windows 7 only. to stop access the hdd on various tools, which cause damaged to drive.

"At any rate i will try not to use other software at the same time as SeDiv with exception of the power/register status window of HRT (to power off/on the drives connected to the card/SeDiv)."
With XP, you can work with all software at one time. power off on work with pc3000, even its a china clone or original one.
you can open WDR with Sediv, google chrome etc.

Windows 7 have different protection, XP have different.

But i will try to fix this, so user can work on all software with Sediv and other in one time

No big dela but ....

1) I'm using SeDiv in windows XP.
2) I do understand that SeDiv does need solid copy protection. Otherwise people will pirate it.
3) I do understand that SeDiv does need to close down the HRT ATA terminal (No one wants for people to "sniff" or steal the VSC that they are using on their software).
4) I do think that it's more important to fix / improve the software in other ways first like suport for newer drives, unlock terminal on Seagate for newer drives, implement stuff like reading ROM on Toshiba by TTL, etc ....
5) SeDiv detects and works with my PC-3000 PCI card and HRT card. It doesn't close down the main HRT window, just the ATA terminal so i guess it's ok .... I can understand that as a protection measure.
6) Closing browser it's a little bit overkill !!!

At any rate in general SeDiv is just greatttt so just keep improving it. I will gladly pay for the anual updafe fee as long as it's reasonable. $100 for old users it's very cheap and OK, compared with the $1000 of PC-3000, so yes, it's a good price, no problem with that.

Regards and all the best.

If you like SeDiv and you want to use the recent versions than buy the updates (pay the update fee). It's very cheap compared with the update fee on other tools (like PC-3000) and it helps Mr. Div to improve the product and hopefully add support for more drives.

Pirating the .dll to get a "free" update doesn't sound reasonable as the SeDiv now is very cheap and powefull so very worth the $100 for the updates that you would have to pay. Just charge $150 or $200 to recover the data from someone the next time you use SeDiv to do so and you are done.

It's not every edition, it's an anual fee (1 year of updates).

And for what i know it's only $100 (10 times less than PC3K anual updates fee....)

There are a few nervous by the sudden change policy. But once someone much upset and get away with such a number that the whole idea falls headlong around his neck.

A and please do not suspect me of bad news !! The cracking, hacking, having links with a group of pirate. I HAVE NOTHING IN COMMON WITH THIS!!

Also, with this new "license" system what will happen if you don't buy the updates ?

Will SeDiv stop working after 1 year / half a year or can you still use your old versions and you will not be able to use only the updates ?

Does SeDiv have a time limit (of use) per license ?

Thanks.

Great review! :D

I am thinking about picking up SeDiv to help learn more about firmware repair.

Thanks

Yessssss !!!

SeDiv is a GREAT choice at a GREAT price to handle firmware on Hitachi/Toshiba/Seagate/Samsung and WD. If you want a very cheap alternative to MRT PRO that really works (without the data extractor) then go for it. As you already have the RapidSpar you will be more or less ok.

I would still consider to "swap" that rapidspar by a DDI4. Even a used DDI4 like this would be better than RapidSpar - viewtopic.php?f=15&t=34046

Do you have any results on the imaging comparison on my test drive ? Regards.
