The HDD Guru LLFormat was used on an HD I have-- pretty old-- and then I ran the quick format (Simple volume) within Windows 7 as Administrator. The HD is a Western Digital. Does Running the LLF require a setup and initialize from the Western Digital tools as a 'new drive' which Win 7 install will recognize?
Please advise on a procedure.

Eactly what model is this WD HD? If applicable to this HD: was DriveLock, with or without a user password, used previously? On 2nd thought, a better question: what WD utilities came with this HD?

After the wiping, windows 7 should just state the disk is unformatted and proceed to install.
But you say you ran the Quck Format. That means, after running the llf utility, you created a partition in the drive through windows 7, isn´t it ? If you want to install windows in it, no need to create partition/format beforehand. You can just delete all partition in it from Disk Manager, then proceed to install windows from the cd boot.
