HDD Scan default temporary file location

October 18th, 2017, 13:16

Hi,

I have my windows and HDD Scan 3.3 installed on the drive C: of a WD HDD 500 GB. I was trying to perform a read scan on another Seagate HDD which is 1 TB. But the scan was not successful and showed a message saying no hard disk space. When i checked, only a few MBs were left on the C: drive. How do i recover my lost space on drive C:? Is there any file or folder where HDD Scan store any temporary files?

depends.

how much HDD space was there before the scan. If you are sure it is temp files then just go to c:, and do a search for *.*

This will show all files and you can click on the date column header to sort by date, showing newest files, and should show up the temp files (if any)

otherwise download something like windirstat or treesize and scan c: showing hard disk hogging folders.

or, download sysinternals suite and use appropriate tool to monitor the program, and see where the temp files are.
