I'm trying to get a copy of a failing drive.
Both drives are ST8000DM004-2CX188 001
I've run the raw copy tool (ver 1.10) three times, and each time the PC reboots when I'm somewhere between 1% and 2% done.

What can I do?

given that the drive in question is a Seagate drive, I would strongly recommend - if the data in it is valuable to you - to send it to Data Recovery PRO/firm, and stop hammering the drive using a PC

Ok, that seems less than helpful.

Is there something I can do to keep this reboot from happening?

The drive is likely failing/failed, hence the program crashing.
Would suggest checking drive with MHDD or Victoria to understand why it is failing (SMART, scan, etc).
Once knowing what the problem is, then we can apply the proper solution.

If you insist on continuing even though you might 'kill' the drive you might try to clone in reverse.

Dmde has that option. If/when the retries/parameters tab pops up you could also select skip all read errors and (set to '0') and set the jump on read error to 64.

Or you could use a Linux utility such as Ddrescue

Remember the drive is failing and any future pro recovery is likely to cost more $$$ when/if you give up.

Good advice above too. At least find roughly where the bad patches are.

Smart scan says everything is good. The drive is part of a DROBO nas pack, and the drobo is reporting this drive is failed or failing. Drobo support has me trying to image this drive onto an identical model.

I also tried AOMEI, but that software doesn't report drive serial numbers so I don't know which is which and I haven't tried it further than that.

"Clone in reverse"?

Yes.

You can also use hddsuperclone ( search the forum, there are many threads about it )

SMART scan may be inaccurate OR not do anything at all. Have to verify. Seeing is believing.
Reverse cloning is cloning from "end of drive to beginning", which is opposite of "front of drive to end of drive", which is the default all software are programmed to do.

The drive may fails because of overheating. Did you put any fans around it? Any temperature monitoring?
