Post subject: | Accessing Password Protected USB Stick |
I have a USB Stick (DataTraveler) that is password protected. I have the password but Windows 10 won't allow me to run it. Trying to install the DTSP_Launcher.exe I get a message from the User Account Control saying the program has been blocked for my protection. UAC is turned off but it still happens. Any suggestions as to how I can get past this? The owner has deleted 4 files from the stick and says they haven't used it since so I assume they are still there. |

Forgot to say I have tried running DTSP_Launcher.exe from an elevated cmd prompt but the program just shows a splash screen that shutsdown and is followed about a m minute by a message DTSecure Privacy Error - Your DTSecure privacy could not start. Please remove your DTSecure Privacy and try again.. |

I've managed to turn off UAC in the registry and no longer get the message saying the program has been blocked but I still get the message mentioned above about DTSecure Privacy could not be started.. |

Well, it seems that the problem was the program wouldn't run on the latest version of Windows 10 - 20H2. Tried it on 1909 version and it runs ok. Just need the correct password now as the owner has supplies the wrong one. |

Recovered 2 of the 4 files using DMDE. Not perfect but the ones I did recover were very large .PPT files.. |
