 Post subject: CAN U HELP ME UNLOCK MY HARD DRIVE

HI i have a 40gb hard drive it is lock to 20gb i try to use the MHDD then i go to NHPA it ased me do u want to set native LBA address? y/n i said yes then it tell me read NHPA fail can u tell me y it saying that
now if i used a drive that say 40gb then i cut it to 20gb and i used the NHPA on that drive it work fine when i set the LBA address then i put yes it work it dont tell me fail so can u tell me y the other drive is failing i have alot of drive that is 40gb and it is lock to 20gb and everytime i try to used the LBA address it is failing ca i tell me y please thank u

Hi,

It would help if you told us the type of drive.

Some other drives will limit capacity if a single head fails.

If you can post the model number we should be able to help!

some is western digital model # is WD400BB-60JKA0 ALSO I HAVE MAXTOR MODEL # IS 6E040L0711233

exactly the same way you executed NHPA... type it!

ok maysoft i try the Execute CONFIG command i put yes the enter all the way it gave me divice error

hey can some one help me unlock a maxtor drive i try the CONFIG command it dident work i try the NHPA dident work so some please tell me now what to do

i ve one 40gb segate baracuda hdd firmware 8.01 .its detect in bios but not shown after boot it shows primery master hdd fail.then i tried it on other board it detects and even shows afterboot . i ve tried mhdd it shows that harddisk is ata password protected. so is there really any password or firmware curruption.if yes than tell me how to update this firmware.

try with mhdd to remove password....
