I work as an IT/network admin for Education sector. The teachers are normally more "fun" to watch to see what eyebrow raising things they say and do than the students.
I had a teachers Kingston Flash Drive to recover. They said "Just try" as it wasnt really an issue if the files could be recovered as there was a backup. When asked where the backup was for testing, they said on that same flash drive in a folder called backup... After a few ah.. interesting discussions, it seems they honestly thought that by calling the folder "BACKUP" it would magically preserve their data, even though the drive could not be read. Near the end of the conversation you could almost see the light bulb go on!
Another teacher had issues "saving" to their USB. I was perplexed as I could only find the standard Imation utils on the drive, and there was actually nothing wrong with the drive - worked perfectly. in the end I asked her to show me how she saved a file and the problem was clear : during the saving process, she was clicking "Cancel" not "OK" !!
Not DR related, but a teacher could not print to her new wireless printer I installed. When I got there, there was no power cable. Seems she though wireless meant exactly that.. didn't need
ANY wires at all!!!
