What makes me sad and angry is that people are buying that stuff thinking they will get their data back.

Adaptor that you can get at ebay for $6 USD + Freeware to undelete files (that people will most likely install on the drive they deleted data from .....)

People who knows nothing will simply buying this products without seeking helps from professionals. It will be more terrifying if the medias are having mechanical problems. Those people who developed the tools loves making money online. LOL

Despite the hoax, what caught my eyes the most was the crappy design. See 00:30 in the video. The USB-cable has to be bent for the molex-plug to be inserted.

It's very typical of them "As seen on TV" chits to extol and exaggerate on the (usually dud) products they sell. I dunno if you guys have seen this before, but it reminded me of this advert for a over-glorified "brick game":
