I took it to be saying, "We don't hear from you any more Spildit; have you lost your interest in hard drives?"

Yes, I was being fececious, but also, if you look at the facts:
1.He has his own forum
2. He has had a few life things mentioned and has had to spend less time on forums a couple of times, so an ebb and flow is not unusual.
3. he has started to learn enough to make some money out of this.. means that the free help will decline because of a shift of dedicated time.
4. If you have learnt anything from Spildit, you would seriously doubt he would lose interest in HDD's ;-)

wow, you are assuming a lot there buddy. Remember this forum is an open forum where people volunteer help, or ask questions, come and go as they please. Nobody is under any obligation to do anything except be respectful to other members.. and their past behaviour should not be a shackle to bind them to any future action.

Best you PM Spildit and chat, he is a reasonable sounding guy and I am sure if your tact was ok he would have a conversation with you.

Hi all !
I did get upset with Data Recovery and decided to move away to other projects that were pending.
Some days ago i did start to study WD ROYL drives by picking some of them and damage them at the firmware level, like erasing/damaging the DIR module, erasing SA, damaging ROM, etc ....
By now i DO have a good understanding of the way the WD firmware works and finaly i think that i did manage to master it in a decent level and i'm able to recover from a lot of cases using my own tricks that i've discovered along the way, like loading DIR module on software RAM to find the rst of the modules on the drive and write it back without hot swap, etc ....
I think that i manage to learn a lot after this long break on DR :)
By now i have a good understanding on Seagate, WD and Samsung. I'm moving to the maxtors now.
Regards and let's hope that i manage to make more progress on the new year.

Hi Spildit
Maxtors why maxtors now .Do you folks still get em for DR ,they are randomlyfew in india imho .even Salvation tool is superb for maxtor " surprisingly lol "
