A new WD Guide is available. The WD guide is based on the tool from the manufacture as the Maxtor manual I wrote before. This is not a manual written for the manufacture of this tool it is a guide to help you understand and repair WD HDD. If interested in the new guide it contains 200 pages of information and is supplied with two videos to help you understand and work in repairing and refurbishing HDD.

Please contact by PM if you are interested in receiving a copy of the new guide. I will supply full details on how this can happen.

I've read the entire guide and have to say, great job! If you have the WD Doctor then this guide would be a great addition. It's nice to see a guide for the WD Doctor that is written in plain English. :rtfm:

(Unfortunately or by good luck) in my type of biz (private) customers usually avoid
paying for drive restauration, they buy new drives and pay for the installation.....

But with such a perfect documentation - and the videos with step by step explanation
- I could / should even start to work with this tool (again).

I appreciate efforts and time spent by author in collecting material for book. I sincerely wish if author could release a lite version free for new bees & DIY peoples who cannot afford big $ .
more than 70% new peoples or existing peoples will benefit from it.

This is exactly why there's no "PC3000 LITE" or "PC3000 FREE" or no "SD DOCTOR LITE" or "SD DOCTOR FREE" .

These people won't have the tool that the guide is referring to, therefore the guide would not be useful to them

This will never happen. I have seen what a small bit of information that is here on internet can do to a clients drive. I have watched the videos on U-tube and read posts of DIY failures. I am not going to give my work to these people for free. Sorry in this business it cost to open a DR shop and I am not talking about 100 or 200 dollars. I am talking about more like 500 thousand dollars plus to have all the tools and equipment that you need.

So learner if you want something for free then you have the internet and can find what you want on it. BTW I would not relay on what is said on here at all. Other wise you have to invest in order to get what you want. You can post here and relay on feedback from others and hope they give you the right info that is needed. But to spend and invest a lot of time on a tool and write a book then to give it away for free to a DIY is not possible at all.

There is no light for free version of this manual and none will be supplied.
