Hi all, a couple of questions if someone has time to answer them;
I am wanting to test a quantity of drives that do not spin up or are not detected in the BIOS
I have the Seagate Diagnostic Commands and I have been reading the Seagate BSY tutorials and obtained a USB to serial connector but no matter how I input 'Ctrl z' im not getting a response in the Terminal any Terminal ie: Cutecom, gtkTerm etc. I have connected the RX and TX and can get an echo of any commands I type so the cable itself appears to be working, Do I hold down the 'Ctrl' Key and tap 'z' is that correct ?
So I have a large quantity 60+ Western Digital and Seagate hard drives some of which have had the PCB's removed, I would like to test them before selling them on, can I run any tests on the PCB's that are not connected to a drive ? and if so is there a Seagate Diagnostic Command (DisplayActiveStatus ?) to give me a general idea of the health of a PCB, something I could mention to potential customers so they know they are working PCB's.
