They need to update the Data Compass so I can sell it. I couldn't in good faith sell it to someone with version 10.

I did some more experiments!
I have found that i receive this error only on 2.5" drives, on 3.5" i don't get EInOutError.

I tried on 2 2.5":
1) Momentus 5400.6 ST9500325AS (Wyatt family, fw 0002BSM1) ----> i backup SA mods of this when i had version 6.0
2) Momentus 7200.4 ST9500420AS (Holliday family, fw 0003LVM1)

on both this 2.5" i get EInOutError in module XJDDL and is impossible to backup SA mods, it's possible only to work in terminal.

DON'T UPDATE TO VERSION 7.0 !!!

My suggestion is to not buy the units at all or throw them on a shelf like everyone else.

Problem solved!

I installed a new fresh XP 32 bit, now Seagate Doctor is working again properly.

I guess this is a bug of version 7.0, if your operating system is not clean it might interfere with usb Seagate Doctor communication and you will not able to use it.
Also, when you install version 7.0 for the first time, it automatically updates the firmware inside Doctor hardware, then you will not be able to use again version 6.0 or previous versions.

Version 7.0 is not stable and you might have big trouble using it on 2.5" drives, so don't update it.
Unfortunately i already did it and going back to version 6.0 is not possible due to the firmware change inside the tool.

At least I managed to get it working again with a clean XP
:o

I never tried HD doctor on recent O.S.
I only worked with it on XP 32 bit.

What i was meaning is that i have installed again XP and now Seagate Doctor is working properly, this means that version 7.0 is not stable enough to work with no clean O.S.

I just found out that there are 2 different .exe files for the Seagate HD Doctor 7.0.

HaQue posted the download link of first .exe version which is not good
The second version of 7.0, which worked good for me, you can find here:
Code:
down.xlycn.com/download/HD Doctor for Seagate 7.0.rar

P.S.
Please read post of "Nicolaszhou" about the problem:

Now i'm sure, the first release of Seagate 7.0 linked by HaQue is not good.

This is the good one:
Code:
down.xlycn.com/download/HD Doctor for Seagate 7.0.rar

I just linked it from the SD forum when it first came out.
Thanks for fixing it up

BTW if the links don't work due to spaces in the file name then add in %20 in each place there is a space
