Important notice about the HDD Oracle :

Because of some personal problems i have been away from DR, but still maintain the HDD Oracle, even if i'm not replying to the PMs or following the threads.

Yesterday we suffered another attack.

Aparently someone keeps trying to cause harm to the HDD Oracle and as so someone did manage to complain about the malthus.zapto.org domain at no-ip.

no-ip disabled the HDD Oracle account yesterday and aparently we are having trouble getting it back.

No idea why, and no explanaitions.

Currently we changed the domain to malthus.mooo.com as we can't get out domain back from no-ip,

I know this will be troublessome to many, special for people with saved links on the old domain name format ..... And there is the possibility that many users will no longer be able to find the site any longer as well .... People who knew only the old domain name.

I'm also updating the alexsoft.org domain to link to the HDDOracle site.

It might be a better idea to save and access the HDD Oracle site from now on using http://www.alexsoft.org/ as it's my own paid domain and if the sittuation happens again i can update the domain name to link to the no-ip address.

I'm very, very sorry about this and all the trouble caused, but at this point is out of our controll.

Someone keep complaining to no-ip about the site, and to vendors of AV software that also have web security products to blacklist our site as dangerouse, and aparently no-ip decided to take action against us, and close the original account.

Sorry again for all the inconvenience.

At this pointthe site is fully backed up and working but with a new domain. I also have a backed up copy of the entire server off-line, just in case someone tries to hack the forum and start deliting stuff from the machine.

Hopefully i will be back to the DR world someday soon and i want to maintain the HDD Oracle site, even if i'm not arround, but i can only assume that someone is not happy with it and wants for it to be down ....

Welcome back. It's too bad that some psychopath is intent on subverting your good work. I'm surprised that no-ip haven't responded to your concerns, though. It seems that not too long ago they themselves were complaining about being ignored by Microsoft for the same reason.

In any case, perhaps this would be an opportune time to consolidate the information on your forum and present it as a series of articles and tutorials. I've been meaning to do this for a long time but just haven't been able to motivate myself. I think HDD Guru could also do with some consolidation along these same lines. This would save people the effort of having to trawl through a decade of old threads just to get a few nuggets of information.

Original post was created at 2014 when i did had no-ip service redirecting a host name (not even hddoracle.com) to a machine IP and i was running the server on a "friend" computer. HDDOracle did get it's own dedicated host account with a real web host provider back in 2015 (4 years ago) ... This post was done when no-ip deleted many redirections back in 2014 (5 years ago) and it was not possible to access the old server with the old domain name ... again it was a no-ip domain something ended in .zapto.org or soemthing like that. IT WAS NOT hddoracle.com .....

This was solved 5 years ago ... Very old post ...
