Hi to all,

I have 2 HDDs WD AV WD5000BUDT, both drives came from video recording device.

I've tried to see if I can use them for my computer but I couldn't partition them.
I'm using windows 7, the system recognize them but doesn't shows them in Windows Explorer, other software's don't see them at all or see them with 0 kb or with many Gb.
I've attached two print-screens from two different software's. I've tried several tools even WD Align. I connected them just via usb, with and without additional power source. Please give me some ideeas, what else I can try to make them work.

What kind of video recording device you mean? If it's security-related and you need to recover recordings, the do not attempt to partition or format the drive. You will not get access to videos, but will make situation worse.

For more details check another topic about surveillance system recovery.

If you mean a device like TV receiver, then I'd suggest you to check local forums. I've never made any attempts to clarify this, but all the people asking about similar problems/devices here were from Poland. So the issue appears to be Poland-specific and you're more likely to find an answer on domestic forums.
